First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a loving community of faith that welcomes all who seek the peace that only God can provide. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a mainline Christian denomination. The identity statement of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) states:

“We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.”

First Christian Church is part of the Christian Church in PA, the first FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Disciples of Christ) in the US and Canada.

Worship Services

Sunday mornings 10:30 AM – A traditional service in a liturgical format that includes hymns, praise songs, prayer, scripture readings, special music, Holy Communion, and a biblical message relevant to today. Worship services are traditional or contemporary and sometimes hybrid.

Childcare & Sunday School

Childcare is available during worship service. Let us know your needs in advance if you can. Otherwise, we will be flexible to your needs. We are currently looking to fill a position in our nursery. Please contact the church if you are interested in applying.

Youth Group

Our youth meet at 11:45 AM following the worship service on the first Sunday of each month in the church. They study topics of current interest, take field trips, have lunch, and play games for teenagers. The group leaders are Barbara & Bryan Jones.

Caregivers Support Group

This group focuses on the needs of people who have the responsibility of caring for others. Meetings are held at the church on the first Tuesday of every month. Staffed by the Area Agency on Aging.

EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE

Please join us for our Easter Service. We plan on having a festive Fellowship Hour. Special music will be presented by Barbara Jones, Caden Miller, Guy Montecalvo and our Organist Dr. Wayne Earnest. We will have an Easter Egg hunt for the children in attendance.

BETHANY COLLEGE SCOTT LECTURES

Join us here at the First Christian Church for this program of lectures. The keynote speaker will be Prof. Kimberly Wagner, from Princeton Theological Seminary, the subject of her presentation is “Preaching and Trauma.”

WE ARE FULLY HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE
For those who have difficulty with steps or are in a wheelchair, the entrance from the parking lot provides access to our sanctuary, classrooms & restrooms. We can assist with wheelchairs if requested.

What Should I Wear?

For our Sunday service, some people wear their “Sunday best,” others come in “business casual” dress and some come in jeans and casual shirts. You decide what’s most comfortable for you.

How to Contribute?

Contribute to the ministries of our church by using this on-line giving service. Traditional offerings are collected during our worship service. We thank you for your support, for God loves a cheerful giver.
